Meet Carys

I’m Carys, the founder of The Exec Space. I’m 27 and live in South Devon with my partner, our two-year-old son, and our much-loved pets, Buddy and Daisy.

Before launching my business, I worked across sales, admin, hospitality, and events, gaining first-hand experience in the fast-paced demands of running and managing a business. In 2023, after maternity leave, I took the leap into self-employment—determined to create a career that offered both flexibility and real, meaningful support for business owners.

The Exec Space was built on that vision and has since grown into a trusted provider of high-quality business support. We offer both direct assistance through myself and my team and a VA agency that connects businesses with exceptional UK-based Virtual Assistants.

Now based in South Devon, we proudly support local businesses and entrepreneurs both virtually and in person, whether it’s ongoing admin support, one-off projects, or face-to-face meetings when needed. We bring a bespoke, hands-on approach to business support - helping you stay organised, efficient, and free to focus on what matters most.

Carys Madeleine Phillips
Founder & Managing Director

Carys Phillips, the visionary Founder and Managing Director of The Exec Space, is dedicated to proving that parenthood and professional success can coexist. She also founded The Virtual Mum Club, a coaching business helping mums build VA businesses, save on childcare, and earn more. Carys, a devoted mother, Virtual Assistant coach and charity ambassador, stands as a role model, inspiring others to pursue fulfilling careers without sacrificing the joys of parenting.

As an executive contributor for Brainz Magazine, Carys is honoured to have received their CREA Global award 2024.

Steve is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the music publishing industry, having held senior roles in operations and IT. He spent five years as General Manager of a leading UK music publishing office, overseeing everything from HR and team building to implementing new IT systems and designing some new offices for the London team. Steve also served as Director and VP of IT, where he played a key role in shaping the company’s technology strategy and office operations.

A dad of two and Draghag (Grandad) to one, Steve balances his love for motorbikes with a passion for learning—currently adding a Master’s in Psychology to his degrees in Computer Science, Marketing, and Social Science. And yes, he’s always ready with a terrible dad joke!
